Zé (2023)

Brazil, 1970. Zé, a man from a privileged background, joins the resistance movement fighting against the military dictatorship. He and his partner, Bete, leave their comfortable lives behind to actively oppose the regime while also raising their two children. The film is inspired by the life of José Carlos Novais da Mata-Machado, who died at 27 while imprisoned, falsely accused of betraying his fellow activists.
