Uso mis manos. Uso mis ideas (2003)

In 1973, activists in the Villa Obrera neighborhood of Centenario, Argentina, started an adult literacy program inspired by Cuban and Paulo Freire's methods from the 1960s. Professional photographer Raúl Rodríguez documented the project, intending to create a film for use in other communities and as a record of their work. Thirty years later, "I Use My Hands, I Use My Ideas" brings together these images and stories from those involved, a project that paved the way for national literacy campaigns. It was a community-driven effort to redefine education and encourage critical thinking about the world.
