Let Sleeping Guns Lie (2005)

Johnny Barrett, a lonely man yearning for excitement, immerses himself in crime novels, dreaming of becoming one of the characters. While reading Mickey Spillane, he dreams of a vulnerable girl needing rescue. In his dream, he transforms into the confident hero John Baretta. Upon waking, Johnny discovers a note hidden in his book: "Remember me. They're gonna die. See me. Help me." He embarks on a quest to find the girl from his dream and save her from danger. The film contrasts Johnny’s clumsy reality with his idealized vision of a thrilling adventure where he is the stoic hero of his favorite stories.
