Description:
Tanyabi, a beautiful woman from a Chakma village by the Chengi River, is deeply in love with Punang chan, a poor young man. However, her parents arrange for her to marry a wealthy older man in a faraway village. Overcome with grief, the Chengi River changes its course significantly, and the dried-up riverbed gradually fills with Tanyabi's tears, forming a lake where she drowns herself. The Chakma people continue to tell this story as a folk tale.
