Description:

Mel and Jane Mermelstein are an ordinary California couple who unexpectedly find themselves at the center of a major legal battle in the 1980s. Mel, a Hungarian-Jewish Holocaust survivor, and Jane, a Southern Baptist from Tennessee, have four well-adjusted children who, like most American families, have their moments of playful conflict but ultimately share strong bonds of love and support.
