Description:
This 2007 performance by the Takarazuka Revue adapts Edogawa Rampo's classic novel, *The Black Lizard*, a story frequently adapted for film and stage. The Takarazuka production is a romance set during the Taisho/Heiwa era, filled with suspense. It follows the story of the reserved detective Akechi Kogorou and the elusive Black Lizard, a master of disguise and thief who constantly changes between Western and traditional Japanese clothing. The story concludes differently from Yukio Mishima's adaptation. *Tuxedo Jazz* was the revue associated with this production.
