Description:
Tom Cardigan is a brilliant but troubled lawyer with a drinking problem. He's known for his courtroom skills and winning record. Valentine Powers, a mob boss who helped Cardigan get his start, asks him to defend June Perry, a woman accused of prostitution. Cardigan takes the case, but finds himself falling for June. This is complicated because Cardigan is planning a run for governor and needs a suitable wife.
