In 2005, Adam Bartlett founded Gilead Media, initially releasing limited quantities of LPs and CDs. Today, the label is internationally recognized for its acclaimed black metal, doom, and noise rock releases from prominent bands. Bartlett and his partner Dave Adelson of 20 Buck Spin host Migration Fest every two years, a gathering for heavy music fans worldwide to perform, connect, and build community. Through live performances, interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage, the film explores how musicians use their music to address difficult topics like sexual abuse, depression, religious trauma, and grief. Featuring appearances by members of Thou, Neurosis, Enslaved, Panopticon, Emma Ruth Rundle, Yellow Eyes, Couch Slut, Blood Incantation, Krallice, Mizmor, Weigedood, Hell, Leech, Mania, Inter Arma, and many others.
