The Visible and the Invisible (2007)

Mary and Marquard are painters and lovers sharing a life. After Marquard wins a significant prize, his artistic inspiration fades. As Mary works on a series of paintings, Marquard visits his friend Gregor, a horse breeder and philosopher, and has an affair with Angie, repeatedly seeing her daughter Lucia. Marquard and Lucia develop a close, affectionate bond, culminating in a silent two-day stay at a seaside hotel where unspoken feelings connect them. Mary, unaware of Marquard's activities, discovers the truth on her own and realizes their love is finished. She abruptly stops her current work and begins a new painting called "The Visible and Invisible."
