Description:
The fall of 1980 and the rise of Solidarity sparked a period of dialogue between the Polish people and the communist government, a path of negotiation rather than confrontation. Students quickly became involved, demanding greater autonomy for universities and independent representation, along with freedom from the party's control. When these demands were unmet, students at the University of Łódź initiated a prolonged strike in early 1981, ultimately achieving their goals. The declaration of martial law in December 1981 prompted further protests, including an occupation strike that ended peacefully. The film features firsthand accounts from those who lived through these events, alongside archival footage and recreated scenes.
