Lawinen der Erinnerung (2012)

This film uses Oliver Storz's autobiographical novel *Die Freibadclique*, about a group of fifteen-year-old friends drafted into the army near the end of World War II, as its central theme. Dominik Graf repeatedly reads from the book, contrasting it with clips from Storz’s films to show how the past resonates within them. Storz consistently offered fresh viewpoints on the war and Germany in works ranging from experimental television plays to his film *Im Schatten der Macht*. Through personal interviews Graf conducted with Storz shortly before his death in 2011, we meet an analytical and unconventional man who lived through history. Graf’s commentary explores Storz's reflections, revealing a surprising history of German television.
