Description:
A man is found dead on the Dover/Boulogne ferry. What links him to the attempts to kill Jane Kerrell, a young woman in her early twenties? As she drives through the French countryside towards the South of France, she is repeatedly forced off the road by other cars. However, when she reports these incidents, the local police inspector and a psychiatrist in Cap Ferrat dismiss them as hallucinations, with the psychiatrist concluding Jane is mentally unstable. Desperate, Jane finds an ally in Paul Hedley, an English painter who believes her when he himself becomes a target.
