The Absent Season (2004)

Adrian, a young pianist and composer, struggles with love, artistic inspiration, and vivid memories of his past. He's deeply involved with his sister, until she decides to end their romantic relationship. Overwhelmed by the loss of his grandfather and mentor, Adrian retreats into imaginative worlds. He falls for a neighbor, but she feels more like a figment of his imagination than a real person. Realizing his fantasies are spiraling out of control, Adrian contemplates suicide. However, a figure from his ancestry appears, offering him a path toward healing and a meaningful life.
