Description:
In this poignant yet powerful Colombian drama with subtle magical realism, a withdrawn teenager named Marina (Paola Baldion) lives with her abusive grandfather in a run-down shed. After his death, she goes to live with her cousin Jairo (Julian Roman), a cheesecake photographer who offers her work assisting with his equipment. Together, they embark on a series of road trips as they journey to uncover her grandfather's past. The trip triggers painful memories from Marina's difficult childhood. Known as *Portraits in a Sea of Lies*, the film explores the lasting impact of Colombia's 50-year civil war through the eyes of its protagonist and received the Jury Award for Best Narrative Feature at the 14th Cine Las Americas International Film Festival.
