Based on Mitka Grybcheva's memoir, "In the Name of the People," the film is set during World War II and depicts the intense conflict between the Bulgarian police and Communist-led resistance groups. The story focuses on young recruits within one such unit, specially trained for deadly missions where they face certain death. Their struggles highlight their personalities as they confront mortality, revealing hidden desires and youthful impulses sacrificed for ideological obedience—impulses that clash with fundamental moral principles.
