magiK (2023)

Seven-year-old Kit is deaf and lives in a quiet village in Kuala Selangor, known for its fireflies. Her parents struggle financially; her father works as a tourist boatman, and her mother wants Kit to learn sign language and attend school. However, Kit is shy and prefers the company of nature to people. Her world begins to shift when she meets a firefly that appears to communicate with her through blinking patterns and flight.
