Les esprits du Koniambo (2004)

Ethnologist Alban Bensa returns to New Caledonia after 30 years. His Kanak colleague, Antoine, has passed away, but his son Samy finds Antoine's writings and recordings. These documents detail Antoine's efforts to persuade the corporation Falconbridge to acknowledge the land rights of his clan to the Koniambo land. The Kanak people are torn between pursuing economic progress and preserving their traditions and cultural identity.
