Hojas de Maíz (2002)

*Hojas de Maíz* was commissioned by Cincinnati composer and instrument-builder Anthony Luensman. The film was initially planned as part of his installation, *Irato*, where over twenty pieces responded to viewer interaction via buttons in a civic art center. It was conceived as an exhibit of creatively repurposed doorbells. My contribution involved projecting the film amidst vibrating piano strings, intended for patrons riding an elevator to a performing arts center. Though lighting conditions later made this impractical, the original vision shaped the film's visual style and core elements.
