The Lost Treasure (2005)

Dara lives with her husband, Rade Mitrović, near Obrovac, a Croatian region of rugged terrain. They represent the last traditional inhabitants of the area. Rade carves using time-honored methods, while Dara leads her sheep and goats to pasture, constantly vigilant against wolf attacks. Skilled in guiding her flock and dogs, she instinctively senses approaching wolves through their behavior, often saving the animals from danger. The film follows Dara as she meticulously searches for a lost sheep, carefully examining tracks and prioritizing the search over daily tasks. This poetic documentary explores the enduring struggle between good and evil, highlighting the remarkable nature of human existence.
