Description:
Metal Messiah is a unique science fiction rock opera, a debut feature from Toronto music impresario and director Tibor Takács. Set against the backdrop of late 1970s Toronto's music scene, this dystopian story follows an enigmatic, metallic-skinned stranger who tries to halt society's destructive fixation on rock and roll. Developed with screenwriter Stephen Zoller, the film is a deliberately rough, episodic work, resembling a glam-infused version of Amos Poe's *The Foreigner* (1978), but with grander ambitions, aiming for the bombastic scale of films like *Phantom of the Paradise* (1974) and *Tommy* (1975).
