The Deadman’s Bride (2022)

In a secluded village nestled in the Carpathian Mountains, orphaned siblings Irina and her brother assist their adoptive parents with daily tasks. Irina, deaf-mute, finds solace in nature, befriending only the village's elderly bell ringer, Ciorsak. Their peaceful existence is disrupted by the arrival of a French documentary crew, filming local customs like baptisms, weddings, and funerals. Cameraman Martin becomes deeply infatuated with Irina, who reciprocates his feelings. As the film explores the villagers’ traditions and superstitions, their romance slowly transforms into something unsettling and ritualistic.
