In his hometown of Nashville, musician Ace Baker faces a concert while grappling with painful memories from his past. Growing up fatherless, as a queer person, and facing bullying, Ace's life takes an unexpected turn when he learns his grandfather, Beau, whom he believed to be dead, is actually alive – and his mother knew all along. As their relationship deepens, long-held family secrets are revealed, and Beau encourages Ace to embrace his musical talent.
