Description:

In a Tuscan mental hospital during the 1930s, Dr. Bonaccorsi, a dedicated psychiatrist, strives to understand the root of mental illness within his isolated world. He maintains relationships with three women: the hospital manager's wife, Bianca, his nurse, and Carla, a doctor's wife. However, his carefully controlled life is disrupted by the arrival of Anna, a new trainee psychiatrist who challenges his theories and rejects his advances.
