Letters from Denmark (2006)

Following the controversy surrounding the Muhammed cartoons, ten Danish filmmakers were commissioned to create short documentaries offering their personal perspectives on Denmark. Each film is a direct address to a relative or acquaintance in the Middle East, designed to challenge preconceived notions about the country. The filmmakers collaborate with second-generation immigrants with Middle Eastern roots, framing their statements as personal appeals. Focusing on insight and reflection rather than news reporting, the films offer nuanced portraits of Danish life through intimate storytelling.
