Description:
This is a portrait of Jean-Claude Droyer, a renowned French climber and mountain guide. He played a key role in the growth of free climbing in France during the late 1970s. After training at the climbing schools of Fontainebleau and Saussois, he gained recognition in 1965 for his solo climb of the Pentecôte route at Glandasse. He also achieved first ascents in the Verdon Gorges and winter climbs in the Prealps and Mont Blanc massif, including the first solo ascent of the Directe Américaine on the west face of the Drus in 1971. The film was featured at the "Les Écrans Documentaires" festival in 2004.
