"Brotherhood of Lions" tells the story of the legendary Lions football club, founded in 1978 by Roman Ubakivi. He aimed to train Estonian boys at a time when many believed football wasn't a suitable sport for them. The documentary recounts their intense training, successful competitions in Soviet Russia, and unique work ethic – all vividly portrayed. Popularized by the media, the young players became national heroes in the late 1980s, and symbolized the Estonian national team as the country embraced freedom. Unbeknownst to them, the Lions became symbols of liberation and the bedrock of football in independent Estonia.
