By 2006, Kelly Slater was widely regarded as the sport's equivalent of Tiger Woods or Tony Hawk. At 35, the youngest ever world champion at 20, he aimed for a historic ninth world title, cementing his place in sporting history. "Cloud 9" chronicles the two-year journey leading up to that achievement. The film includes interviews with Slater, as well as insights from skateboarding legend Tony Hawk and fellow surfers Mick Fanning, Dane Reynolds, Jeremy Flores, Jeff Hakman, Miky Picon, Taj Burrow, and Joel Parkinson, who have followed Slater’s career. Four-time world champion Mark Richards narrates the story.
