Kitty, Kitty (2008)

These women range from well-to-do to elderly and struggling, spending their days and nights visiting parks, cemeteries, and quiet spots, always with shopping bags in tow. Known as "cat ladies," they are seen as odd by some and admired by others. Perhaps they feed homeless cats to fill a void or nurture a maternal feeling. In front of the camera, they reflect on life, singing old songs and sharing stories of love, fear, and missed chances. One woman argues with her husband, their only shared interest being a love for cats. They speak of their pets with warmth, each having a name for every feline companion. Łoziński has created a portrait of women who have found purpose in their later years.
