Rise Above (2003)

Rise Above, the debut surfing film from Seven Films, captures the Winter of 2002/2003 with incredible footage from around the globe. Directed by Ryan Ray and D. Miele, it showcases top surfers like Joel Parkinson, Andy Irons, Shane Dorian, and Taj Burrow as they tackle iconic waves at Backdoor, Off The Wall, Rocky Point, and Pipeline in Hawaii. The film also features an exclusive boat trip to Mentawais with rising stars Sean Moody, Brian Pacheco, Jason Shibata, Geoff Brack, Gavin Beschen, Mick Fanning, Mike Losness, and others. Additional highlights include Jamie O’Brien's search in Indonesia, West Oz sessions with CJ and Damien Hobgood, Andy Irons, a dominant solo performance by Shane Dorian in South Africa, Andy Irons' Pipe Masters victory and World Championship win, and California's Winter 2003, focusing on the best right-hand barrels of Orange County.
