Aamakaar (2002)

Aamakaar is a film about protecting a way of life. It follows a small fishing village in North Kerala as they battle sand mining that threatens their estuary. At the same time, the villagers are working to conserve Olive Ridley turtles that nest on their beach. They see a parallel between the endangered turtles and their own community, which faces potential displacement.
