Description:
In early summer 1971, legendary rock promoter Bill Graham concluded the Fillmore West's run with five nights of star-studded concerts, ending on July 4th. The San Francisco venue had become a landmark, central to the West Coast music scene of the '60s and a key part of rock 'n' roll legend. Always a showman, Graham ensured the Fillmore West's farewell was spectacular, featuring bands like the Grateful Dead and Santana who gained prominence there. The events leading up to and during these concerts were filmed for *Fillmore: The Last Days*, a raw, behind-the-scenes look at a pivotal moment in rock history and a celebration of iconic artists who defined 'the San Francisco Sound.' Originally released in 1972 and long unavailable, the documentary film is now available on DVD with Rhino's reissue.
