Carry Me Home (2004)

In rural New York, 1947, widow Harriet and her children Carrie and Brian are adjusting to life after Harriet's husband died in World War II. Carrie, a tomboy, spends time with her friends at their clubhouse, often causing trouble, including stealing a puppy from their mentally challenged neighbor, Charlie. Harriet begins a courtship with a man named Bernard, which infuriates Carrie. Carrie’s jealousy and anger escalate when she and her friends vandalize their neighbor Mr. Grizzle's property and damage his tractor. Grizzle retaliates by taking Charlie's remaining puppies. Later, Grizzle's barn is destroyed by fire. Carrie realizes she needs to mature and apologize to her mother and neighbors for the pain she has caused.
