Fool’s Blues (2022)

Thirty years after directing a legendary film, Daikon, a man fading from memory, develops feelings for the pimp of Tamako, a pin-up girl. When Tamako's former lover reappears, Daikon and Tamako flee to a striptease theater in Hiroshima, where a young college acquaintance is the director. They take up residence in the theater's dressing room, finding unexpected warmth and acceptance from the director and his associates in the entertainment district. However, Daikon’s involvement with a stripper creates tension between him and Tamako. Masaya Kato, known for "Girlfriend wa Yume de Odoru," stars as Daikon, the struggling film director, with Asami Kumakiri as Tamako, who provides unwavering support. The film is directed and written by Yuji Yokoyama, an announcer and actor who previously directed "Cheating Stripper," and also plays the role of the director.
