The Angel of History (2000)

"The Angel of History" explores how unresolved past events haunt both real life and our imaginations. Set in places like an artist's studio, a murder scene, a photography studio, a museum, a body, or a cemetery, the film offers fresh insights into the complex connections surrounding museums. It looks beyond typical relationships between artists and their work, or viewers and art, to reveal fragile and intimate bonds between people involved in making art public: a daughter and her mother, an analyst and patient, a father and son, a photographer and subject, a ghost and the present, and a hangman and victim.
