Jahia’s Summer (2025)

Mila's arrival at the asylum center profoundly alters Jahia's isolated existence. Jahia has spent her evenings cooking for her mother, who is burdened by memories of their escape from Burkina Faso. Alongside an order to attend school, a new girl, Mila, joins the center. Mila’s genuine optimism slowly breaks down Jahia’s defenses, but the uncertain asylum decision casts a long shadow. Then, Mila and her family receive their verdict. This deeply unsettling yet hopeful drama follows two vulnerable friends as they navigate a precarious daily life where the future hangs in the balance – a potential end or a chance for a new start.
