Chloe and Alessandro, longtime friends in their early thirties, live together while pursuing different lives. Chloe works at a recipe publisher and hopes to find love, while Alessandro, a painter in a conservative town, navigates his identity with strength. Their friendship changes when they meet Roberto, who initially expresses prejudice but gradually becomes close to them. Together, they all learn: Roberto overcomes his biases, Chloe finds happiness, and Alessandro feels fulfilled by helping his friends grow. But when Chloe becomes pregnant, their established balance is challenged, requiring them to re-evaluate their relationships and futures.
