Memory Hotel (2025)

In Germany, 1945, as World War II ends, young Sophie and her family become refugees fleeing the advancing Red Army. Seeking shelter in a deserted hotel, they meet a Nazi officer and a Hitler Youth member. Sophie is injured in an elevator fall and witnesses her parents' deaths at the hands of soldiers from opposing sides. Years later, working as a kitchen maid for the Russian troops now occupying the hotel, Sophie investigates missing food supplies and discovers a hidden space beneath the building belonging to the officer, Beckmann. A complicated relationship develops between them, leading to Sophie's marriage to Wassily, a former paratrooper. After the Russians depart, Scharf takes over the hotel. Sophie persuades Beckmann to leave their shared history and journey north, leaving the hotel behind. The story is about survival, strength, and the ability to recover from trauma and find a path forward.
