Description:

Set in 1920s West Virginia's coal region, "Matewan" is a story about the labor movement and the fight for workers' rights. The film follows union organizer Joe Kenehan as he challenges unfair working conditions and powerful corporations. He partners with Few Clothes Johnson, and works with a mayor and police chief committed to improving their town for its workers. Together, they challenge the established order, aiming for a society where people are treated with dignity and fairness, not exploited for profit.
