Like a Son (2024)

Jacques Romand, a history teacher feeling stuck in a small French town, unexpectedly gets drawn into the criminal world after intervening in a store robbery. One of the robbers is a 14-year-old Roma boy named Victor, whom Jacques apprehends. This chance meeting pushes both men to examine their lives and change how they see the world. As Jacques deals with his own problems at work, he begins mentoring Victor, leading them both on a journey of difficult choices, self-understanding, and exploring issues of race, culture, and growing up.
