Last Night of Love (1980)

In 1916, as Romania prepares for war with Austria-Hungary, Lieutenant Tudor Gheorghiu is stationed on the border, longing for news from his wife Lena while struggling with suspicion and jealousy in their marriage. After his grandfather's death, Andrei Nicolau, a lawyer with designs on Lena, is named executor of the will. Unbeknownst to Tudor, their lives become increasingly connected as Romania enters World War One, and both men are assigned to the same military unit. The film explores themes of jealousy, betrayal, and love as the fates of these two men become intertwined, challenging their loyalties amidst the war's turmoil.
