Description:
This moving film explores the connection between a grandmother and her granddaughter as they try to hold onto memories. Using an old camera and three rolls of film, they document moments from Eva's life – moments that seem more real on film than when she talks about them. A language barrier adds to the distance between them, showing how language changes over time. As time passes, these memories become faded and altered, like Eva’s grandmother slowly losing her native language as she's separated from her past. Remembering brings up imperfect versions of the past, not fully clear but not completely gone. The film is presented without subtitles to emphasize that imperfections are part of memory and that memories, like language, are always changing and can't be perfectly captured.
