Description:
Since 1994, Mexico has repeatedly lost before reaching the final game. El Abuelo believes this is due to a curse. Learning he has only months left, he’s determined to witness the national team break it. What starts as a patriotic mission becomes an illegal journey to the United States, where they discover that the devil resides in Los Angeles and the 1986 World Cup mascot holds a vital secret. Amidst border crossings, betrayals, and family revelations, they return to Mexico to perform a soccer ritual at the Estadio Azteca. To break the pact, they must find eleven sacred relics of Mexican soccer and confront both the devil and their own past. As the country watches the crucial penalty kick on television, the family fights a battle that could rewrite Mexican soccer history.
