Jankee (2025)

In Havana, Cuba, Yamel, a film student, unexpectedly captures Jans, an 18-year-old fisherman, on camera during a stormy afternoon. This brief encounter begins a connection that intertwines Yamel's filmmaking, her desire to tell stories, and Jans's authentic life. As Yamel films his world with growing personal interest, the boundary between observing and intruding becomes unclear. The film explores questions of empathy, privacy, and the impact of a filmmaker on someone's vulnerability.
