Description:
The film explores the aimlessness of Poland's post-war generation through Andrzej, a man who embodies a pre-existing sense of being adrift. After a heated argument with his wife, Andrzej embarks on a journey involving various encounters with women. This loosely plotted journey unfolds against the backdrop of an approaching military physical, a stark reminder that Andrzej’s freedom is nearing its end. The film's title comes from a question posed during this medical examination, adding irony and humor to the situation. Directed by Ewa Skolimowski, who also stars, the movie showcases her bold and innovative style. Using four years of footage from her Lódz film school, she created this debut feature, notable for its strong visuals, absurd moments, and honest portrayal of life in postwar Poland.
