Description:
This drama follows Joan Mitchell, a middle-aged suburban housewife feeling unfulfilled. Her husband is emotionally distant, and her daughter is growing up. Seeking meaning, Joan visits a tarot reader, who also leads a secret Wiccan group practicing dark magic. Drawn in, Joan becomes increasingly involved. As her involvement with witchcraft grows, Joan struggles to distinguish reality from fantasy, and her life becomes dominated by her new beliefs. The boundaries between worlds blur as she embraces this alternative existence, leading to a dangerous situation. The film explores disillusionment, self-discovery, and the dangers of escaping reality, examining one woman's search for solace in an unexpected path.
