Following his wife's death, Inspector Louis Baroni seeks solitude, but his peace is disrupted when he's assigned to investigate the death of Madame Morlaix. Her husband, Edouard, claims she tragically fell from a window. Baroni becomes intrigued and begins investigating, questioning the apparent accident. As he uncovers hidden aspects of Madame Morlaix’s life, Baroni confronts his own grief and re-enters the world.
