Hard Shell (2024)

Against the backdrop of Iran's turbulent political and economic climate, Leila, a former celebrated tightrope artist, is forbidden from performing. She finds refuge in her father's old circus, taking a young admirer named Samir under her wing. Samir abandons his studies to dedicate himself to the circus. Simultaneously, Samir’s father, Siamak, secures a foreman position at a small donkey farm after years of hard labor. This newfound stability is threatened when he uncovers a dark secret of animal abductions and corruption within the farm. As they each confront their personal battles and societal pressures, these characters forge an unexpected connection that bridges generations and professions.
