Luys Forest, a writer writing his memoirs by the sea, is haunted by his past as a sympathizer of the Falange. His carefully controlled life is disrupted by the arrival of his sister's daughter, Mariana, and her artistic, quiet companion. Their open and unconventional ways challenge Luys, leading to a complex game of attraction that reveals his attempts to hide his true self.
