Description:
September 1989 in East Germany. As the country experiences a shift in sentiment, 12-year-old FRITZI's life is also transformed. Her best friend Sophie has fled to West Germany with her mother, leaving Fritzi with only Sophie's dog, Sputnik. Fritzi deeply misses Sophie, and resolves to reunite with her by taking Sputnik. The only way to reach West Germany is over the heavily guarded border, presenting a perilous adventure for a young girl and her small companion.
