Description:
'Electronic Labyrinth: THX-1138 4EB' is a science fiction short film set in a dystopian underground city of enclosed passageways. The protagonist, THX 1138 4EB, runs through these cramped spaces, trying to escape the government's surveillance. THX’s escape highlights the society’s reliance on computers and cameras for control, making freedom difficult to achieve. Despite the government's efforts to find him, they are unsuccessful. THX breaks through a door and disappears into the sunset, leaving the government to announce his "destruction" to his partner YYO 7117. Written and directed by George Lucas while at USC film school, this short film presents a stark vision of a society controlled by technology and authority.
